Students and schools who participate in the SVN Broadcast Center are part of a major attraction at the conference. Not just an exhibit, the Broadcast Center is a live, working newsroom and studio that will be producing and airing student-produced content.

The Broadcast Center is usually set up near the Registration area to attract the most attention. Due to the high level of activity, the studio lighting, blue screen and virtual sets, you can expect many attendees to come by and see what we are doing. In addition you may be “on location” around the conference.

We will use NewTek’s TriCaster for switching, lighting from iKan, blue screen or natural backdrop, an intercom system, the EZ News newsroom management system for script preparation and wireless mics. All will be available for your use in preparation of packages.

We will be producing a number of packages 3 to 5 minutes in duration. These will be aired on the conferences' own website, SVN-TV, and on the participating schools site if desired. In addition, they may be used next year to promote the conference.

Participating schools and crew will need to bring their own equipment for field stand-up reporting such as camera(s); tripod(s), mics, cables, batteries and anything else they might need to produce a news package. A laptop is recommending for any package editing.
